Flu Season Wellness Plan Should Include Chiropractic Care
Flu season is here. But, did you know that chiropractic care can help you improve your overall health and reduce your likeliness of getting sick?
Approximately 21 million Americans use chiropractic care to get healthy, stay healthy, and greatly improve the quality of their lives. Chiropractic care is holistic, drug-free, and nonsurgical. It is safe and effective and has helped people of all ages.
A major part of chiropractic care is balancing and aligning the body. When this is achieved, all organs and systems work more efficiently and overall health improves. One of the systems that helps keep you healthy during flu season is a healthy immune system.
Chiropractic care can help keep your immune system happy by relieving stress on the nervous system, which reduces stress on the immune system. When your immune system is uncompromised, it is free to function at its best, giving you a better chance of staying healthy during flu season.
Aside from chiropractic adjustments, Dr. Berman has a few other suggestions for keeping yourself healthy:
Drink Plenty of Fluids. Due to the dryness of the air, winter can be a particularly challenging time to stay hydrated. Getting adequate fluids supports all your bodies’ Â functions including the immune system. Consume plenty of soups and broths and drink tea and water.
Get Enough Sleep. Lack of sleep inhibits your ability to fight off colds. Be sure to get at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night. If you feel that you are coming down with a cold, even more sleep may be needed to rejuvenate your body.
Eat Well. Fresh vegetables and fruit. Less processed and junk food.
Try to Limit the Stressors in Your Life. Stress compromises the immune system as well and thus makes it difficult to get over the cold/flu symptoms you experience.
Get Regular Exercise. Mild to moderate exercise three times weekly helps boost the immune system.
